Braised Baby Bok Choy

Recipe by Diana Rattray.
Lemony butter makes a nice sauce for bok choy, and bacon adds a final flourish. This recipe is good for a bok choy beginner!
Serves: 4-6

Prep Time



2 6.3 ounce packages Jade™ Bok Choy or Jade™ Shanghai Bok Choy, washed and leaves separated
2 to 3 tablespoons butter
½ cup chicken broth
Juice of ½ lemon
2 tablespoons crumbled, cooked bacon (2-3 strips)
Dash garlic powder
¼ teaspoon lemon or other seasoned pepper blend
Salt to taste


  1. Wash Bok Choy and separate leaves. 
  2. Melt butter in a wok or large skillet; add Bok Choy and sauté for 2 minutes, turning frequently.
  3. Add chicken broth, lemon juice, and seasonings.
  4. Cover and simmer over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes, until tender.
  5. Taste and adjust seasonings. Plate and top with crumbled bacon.
